Welcome to The Locker Room
This is our community space: a place to share wins, tell your story, ask questions, and cheer each other on. Whether you’re celebrating something big, working through something hard, or just showing up for the first time, we love that you are visting the Locker Room.
Each week, we’ll post a simple prompt to help you reflect and connect. Share as much or as little as you like. Your response will be reviewed before it appears on the page, so this space can stay supportive, respectful, and real.

What’s one small win you’re proud of this week?
ATHLETE STORY
Name: Paula Sole
Sport: Soccer
What is one mental obstacle you’ve had to overcome?
One of the hardest mental obstacles I have had to overcome in soccer was losing my confidence and feeling like I did not truly belong to a team.
What do you tell yourself when things get tough?
When things get tough, I remind myself to focus on what I can control. I cannot always control the situation, the outcome, or the decisions other people make, but I can control my effort, my attitude, and the way I respond.
What does being an athlete mean to you?
Being an athlete means much more to me than simply playing a sport. It is a lifestyle and a way of approaching everyday life.
Message to Mind Fitness Team mates:
Your mind is just as important as your body, and it deserves to be trained with the same consistency and care. It is okay to have days when you feel off, doubt yourself, feel scared, or struggle with confidence. Those moments do not make you weak.
Mental strength is not about being positive every second. It is about learning how to respond when negative thoughts appear. Try to focus on what you can control, be patient with yourself, and celebrate the small wins that often go unnoticed.
Pay attention to the way you speak to yourself. Talk to yourself with the same kindness and encouragement you would give to a teammate. Remind yourself of the work you have put in, the challenges you have already overcome, and the reasons you started.
Do not be afraid to ask for support. Reaching out to a teammate, coach, friend, or someone you trust is a sign of strength, not weakness. You are not supposed to handle everything alone.
Believe in yourself, stay present, give yourself grace, and remember that one bad day, one mistake, or one difficult moment does not define you. Keep working on your mindset just as intentionally as you work on your body.
